Not all used IBC tanks are equal. Our transparent grading system helps you understand exactly what you're getting. Each grade reflects the tank's condition, previous use, cleaning level, and suitability for different applications.

Our Grading Tiers
Grade A — Food-Grade Reconditioned
Condition Details
- Previously contained food-safe liquids only (juices, syrups, oils, vinegar)
- Triple-rinsed with food-safe cleaning agents and sanitized
- New gaskets and valve seals installed
- Pressure tested at 150% operating capacity
- Bottle in excellent condition — no yellowing, minimal scratches
- Cage straight with no significant dents or corrosion
- Cleaning certificate provided with each tank
Suitable For
Food processing, breweries, potable water (with additional filtration), beverage production, pharmaceutical
Note
Not needed for non-food applications — save money with a lower grade
Grade B — Industrial Reconditioned
Condition Details
- Previously contained non-hazardous industrial liquids (soaps, detergents, lubricants)
- Triple-rinsed with industrial cleaning agents
- Gaskets inspected and replaced if needed
- Pressure tested at operating capacity
- Bottle may show light yellowing or minor staining — structurally sound
- Cage may have minor dents or surface rust — fully functional
Suitable For
Agricultural irrigation, chemical storage, industrial wash systems, landscape watering, non-food liquid storage
Note
Not suitable for food/beverage contact without additional certification
Grade C — Standard Used
Condition Details
- Previously contained non-hazardous materials
- Single rinse cleaning — residue-free but not sanitized
- Existing gaskets and seals (functional but used)
- Valve tested for basic function — may drip under pressure
- Bottle shows normal wear — yellowing, light scratches, possible minor staining
- Cage functional with possible moderate dents
Suitable For
Water storage, rainwater collection, general non-food storage, construction site water, dust suppression
Note
Not suitable for food contact or chemical storage requiring certification
Grade D — Economy / As-Is
Condition Details
- End of liquid-storage life — may have hairline cracks or heavy UV damage
- Not cleaned — sold as-is, buyer responsible for cleaning
- Valve may be partially functional or non-functional
- Bottle has significant wear — heavy staining, scratches, or discoloration
- Cage intact and structurally sound even if cosmetically worn
- Lowest price point — ideal for non-liquid creative reuse
Suitable For
Raised garden beds, planters, composting bins, dry storage, art projects, DIY furniture, barriers
Note
Not suitable for any liquid storage or transport application
