Reconditioned IBC Tanks: Like New, Without the Footprint
Our reconditioned tanks deliver the same performance as brand-new containers at a fraction of the environmental cost. Every tank goes through our rigorous 7-step reconditioning process before it earns our quality certification.

Our 7-Step Reconditioning Process
Every tank that leaves our facility as “reconditioned” has passed through each of these steps. No shortcuts, no exceptions.
Intake Inspection
Visual and structural assessment. We check the cage for bending, welds for cracks, and the bottle for UV damage or warping.
Content Verification
We identify and document previous contents using labeling, residue analysis, and supplier records. Hazmat history = reject.
Disassembly
Bottle removed from cage. Valve, cap, and gaskets removed. Each component assessed independently for reuse or replacement.
Triple Rinse
Three complete wash cycles: hot water pre-rinse, alkaline detergent wash, and final sanitizing rinse with food-safe solution.
Component Replacement
New gaskets installed. Valve seals replaced. Damaged cage sections welded. Cracked pallets swapped. Only quality parts used.
Pressure Testing
Reassembled tank filled and pressurized to 150% operating pressure. Held for 30 minutes. Any leak = back to step 5.
Certification
Passed tanks receive our reconditioning certificate documenting previous contents, cleaning method, test results, and date.

Environmental Impact
Choosing reconditioned over new isn't just a budget decision — it's an environmental one. Here's what each reconditioned tank saves compared to manufacturing a new one.
CO2 Emissions Saved
Manufacturing a new IBC tank produces approximately 120 kg of carbon dioxide from raw material extraction, HDPE molding, steel cage fabrication, and assembly. Reconditioning uses a fraction of that energy.
Water Saved
New HDPE production requires significant water for cooling and processing. Our reconditioning wash cycle uses roughly 50 liters per tank — over 95% less water than manufacturing from scratch.
Plastic Kept From Landfill
Each IBC bottle contains approximately 18 kg of HDPE plastic. Reconditioning extends the useful life of that plastic by years, keeping it in productive use instead of ending up in a landfill or recycling stream.
Figures are estimates based on industry lifecycle analysis data. Actual savings vary by tank size, condition, and reconditioning scope.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does 'reconditioned' actually mean?
A reconditioned IBC tank has gone through our full 7-step process: inspection, content verification, disassembly, triple rinse, component replacement, pressure testing, and certification. It is cleaned, repaired, tested, and documented to perform like a new tank.
Are reconditioned tanks safe for food-grade use?
Yes, when sourced from food-grade original containers. Our food-grade reconditioned tanks previously held food-safe liquids and are triple-rinsed with food-safe cleaning solutions. They include a reconditioning certificate documenting previous contents and cleaning procedures.
How do reconditioned tanks compare to 'used as-is' tanks?
Used as-is tanks are sold in their current condition with minimal intervention. Reconditioned tanks have been fully disassembled, cleaned, inspected, repaired, pressure tested, and certified. The difference is comparable to buying a used car 'as-is' versus buying one that has been professionally inspected and serviced.
Can I get reconditioned tanks in bulk?
Absolutely. We regularly fulfill orders of 10, 25, 50, and 100+ reconditioned tanks for commercial and agricultural buyers. Bulk orders receive volume pricing and we can schedule production runs to meet your timeline. Contact us for a custom quote.
What parts are replaced during reconditioning?
At minimum, every reconditioned tank receives new gaskets and valve seals. Beyond that, any component that does not meet our quality standard is replaced: cracked pallets, bent cage sections, damaged valves, worn caps, and degraded O-rings. Only parts that pass inspection are reused.
Do reconditioned tanks come with any documentation?
Yes. Every reconditioned tank includes a reconditioning certificate that documents the previous contents (when known), cleaning method used, pressure test results, date of reconditioning, and the condition grade assigned. This paperwork is important for regulatory compliance and your own records.
